The beta is the first opportunity for players to try out Black Ops 6’s new mechanic. Many are probably wondering how to use a body shield in Black Ops 6.
Many are excited to utilise this new mechanic, especially if you’re a lover of the Riot Shield, which has been omitted from the game at this point in time.
So how do you do it for yourself?
How To Use A Body Shield In Black Ops 6
With a new Call of Duty, it means a new set of mechanics and fun features for players to try out.
In MW3, the new mechanics was the tactical stance. This year, it’s all about the Body Shield, also known as a ‘Meat Shield’.
This is when one player takes hold of an enemy player hostage and holds them across the body with one arm while wielding their weapon with the other; effectively creating a shield with the enemy body to protect them.

To do this, all you need to do is press the melee button twice when you are behind an enemy to use them as a Body Shield.
This is clicking the RS/R3 button/stick in by default or pressing the B/Circle button on the Tactical layout.
This is not to be mistaken with a finishing move, where you hold the button instead.
When in your possession, they will absorb damage until they expire. But you can choose to quickly dispatch them or use a finishing move before that happens.
Our experience tells us this will come in handy in objective-based modes when trying to hold a Hardpoint or solo cap a flag in Domination – use it wisely!
