New Call of Duty games tend to introduce new mechanics and concepts each year and this year is no different. You may be wondering how Combat Specialty works in Black Ops 6.

This new system is aimed to give users who play in a certain way a big benefit and challenge players to switch up the way they play and how they think when creating a class.

How Combat Specialty Works In Black Ops 6

When picking your weapons and loadouts in the create-a-class this year, players will be given the same traditional 3 perk system, but with a twist.

Players can choose perks from different categories. When picking those perks, if a player elects to use three perks from the same category, they will inherit a bonus.

Combat Specialty comes in three variations.

  • Enforcer (Red):
    • Killing enemies grants a temporary buff to movement speed and health regen rate
  • Recon (Blue):
    • Enemies can be seen through walls for a short time after respawn, a HUD edge indicator flashes when an enemy is outside your view, leave no death skulls when killing enemies
  • Strategist (Green):
    • Earn a score bonus for objectives and destroying enemy content through walls a short distance, deploy equipment and field upgrades faster

It’s likely this is a way to shake up the meta and encourage users to try different setups. It can only be our assumption they’ve done this as they have separated some of the stronger and more prominent perks to encourage users to take up these bonuses instead of using incompatible perks.

Honestly, it’s hard to see people break away from the meta once it is established and use other things, but one can only hope this sees some variation.
