Black Ops Royale will take Call of Duty back to the old school Battle Royale experience, forcing players to find whatever they can to do battle with. So how does looting work in Black Ops Royale?
Season 2 Reloaded of Black Ops 7 will see a major change to the Call of Duty Warzone experience with the launch of this Blackout-inspired mode. Many may see it as a welcome change as the original concept has been ongoing for six years and is starting to experience fatigue.
Unfortunately, you’ll need to ditch your favourite current weapon meta loadout and use what the game gives. So let’s dive into the details.
How Does Looting Work In Black Ops Royale?
Looting has gone old school, and it is basic. You find whatever you can to defend yourself. Supply boxes and ground loot are still in place, as they always have been, but there are no loadouts, there is no in-game cash, no buy stations and no Gulag.
Rewards are also dispensed for doing certain activities.
Here are all of the lootable items in-game:
- Weapons
- Attachment Kits
- Armor
- Armor Vests
- Armor Satchel
- Killstreaks
- Lethals
- Tactical
- Field Upgrades
- Ammo
- Perks
How Does Weapon Looting Work In Black Ops Royale?
Each weapon has preset archetypes, which means they are built (with attachments) in specific ways to benefit certain playstyles.
For example, you may find an SMG that is equipped with attachments to suit movement speed, allowing you to rush and close the gap to your opponents much faster.
Can I Upgrade My Weapons?
You can upgrade weapons in Black Ops Royale. This is done by finding attachment kits found in the world, rather than looking for attachments. These are predetermined to the weapon you pick up and are not swapped out individually.
You will be able to increase the rarity, which adds more attachments and improves its stats from Common to Legendary. You can get a maximum of 5 attachments on your weapon.

Exotic Weapons
Special Exotic weapons will be available in-game that have 8 attachments, but will be much rarer to find.
New UI
A new UI has also been implemented to quickly and seamlessly allow you to navigate through your loot to move what you need as you need it.

Perks
Perks are lootable, just as you loot your weapons. There are no slots or specific perks that can or have to be utilised at any point.
You can carry up to 5 perks total, and you can pick and choose what you want to use.
The only catch is that these perks grant temporary benefits and are not permanent. Once you activate them, they will slowly tick away and be gone, permanently, when they run out.
Armor
Tiered armour vests are returning to the mode. Going up to tier 3, this offers the most protection compared to tier 1.
Players will also be able to store additional plates using the armor satchel.
